Silly me. I logged a call with HP and the first thing they
said is to adjust the TCP timers on the DTC. There are
five templates that adjust TCP timeout and retry counters
for varying network environments. Those environments seem
to be: 1) local LAN 2) Bridge LAN 3) Network with "exceptionally
high transmission times" 4) Network with "high data losses" and
5) "Extended switching applications over a LAN or a LAN with
bridges (whatever that means, I'd guess extended LAN including
routers).

Anyway, upon checking our current settings, we found a couplle
boxes set to (1) which was definitely wrong. We set them all
to 5 and if that doesn't work, we'll set them to 3 or 4.

I'm willing to bet that this is going to fix the problem. Its
exactly what I was looking for. I'll let you know.
