If you can turn it around and use MGET instead you can specify the build
parameters on the MGET command.

  ftp>  mget * ;rec=-144,,f,ascii

You would need to run an FTP server on your WIN2000 workstation.

Bleah.  Thanks for the suggestion, but bytestream is not what I want.

Jeff Sohrt recommended using the syntax:

send file hpfile;rec=-144,,  etc.

which works fine.  However, I was using mput, and it looks to me like this
syntax won't work with mput...

Any other ideas?
