And don't even get me started on TVs like Samsung's Six series, where
there is no sound out over HDMI *at all*, and so the optical digital out
you need soaks up the only digital socket on the pretty matching 2.1
'virtual 5.1' AV box. Which is very pretty, but really wants to sit
upright, despite being taller than the pitch of the average AV rack even
before you try to post a DVD in it; it will sit flat, but then you can't
see the display that tells you what it thinks without going over and
peering at it.... :-(
