i didn't say anything about raid either.  while it's my personal
preference (and mod20's are way cheap!) i know not everyone is in a
position to go there.

it was more an indication of how old the drive is.  4gb and 9gb drives,
at this point, are quite old....

i think the unfortunate reality is many (to most?) mpe system run off a
single volume.  losing your sole 9gb drive would be no different than
losing your only 32gb drive...

actually, i've got the same problem.  that i'm allowed to spend 2k is a
big deal.  as a rule, there is no mpe (hardware) budget (other than
maintenance).

it's the homesteaders that worry me the most.
