Yes - SAF/3000 does indeed make extensive use of AIF:PE calls and does
intercept logons *before* the initial prompt.  Although Security/3000 and
SAF/3000 both handle network connections, SAF/3000 goes a bit further and
has more finite definition.

(Disclaimer:  I haven't seen a recent Security/3000 release, so capabilities
may have been changed.  It would be best to check with VESoft)
