TurboImage b-trees is setup so that you index the key of a
master dataset (manual/automatic) and then you can access the
master and ALL associated detail datasets by generic key.

So, if you have a detail dataset that has a name field, you could
create an automatic master for the name field, index it and then
you can do generic key lookups on the name field to retrieve from the
detail dataset.

I believe the wording of the b-tree documentation is defensive because
existing 3'rd party solutions allow you to index most any field
and HP wants you to understand that only fields that are keys
can be indexed.
