At a client site, using MPE/iX 5.0, a strange conflict occurred. While
trying to RUN DBSCHEMA.PUB.SYS;PARM=3, I received the following message:
Dynamic LOCKING was specified on a previous OPEN of this file, and
dynamic LOCKING was not specified on this call to HPFOPEN. (FILE OPEN
ERROR -430). Doing a LISTF, -3 on DBSCHEMA showed FLAGS: 1
ACCESSOR,SHARED,1 R. SECURITY IS ON and access is ANY for R,W,A,L,X. All
other parameters looked normal. Using MPEX to determine any access of
the file, I found QUERY.PUB.SYS had it open as INPUT at RECORD 1. When
the support person using QUERY returned to MPE, the conflict went away.
Why would QUERY open DBSCHEMA?
TIA!
