I am stunned into silence.
These are my feelings exactly.

Interex is telling us that there was a lack of qualified candidates running
for the board. What do they consider a qualified candidate? Is a person that
never used an HP CPU (and still doesn't know what MPE is) until 1993
qualified? Apparently so because he's their chief apologist.

Interex has been saying that they need to position themselves for the New
World Order (or some such phrase)and need to reorganize. If Interex needs to
re-evaluate its commitment to us then so do we, the users, need to
re-evaluate our relationship with them. I joined Interex because it was the
user advocacy organization for the HP3000 user. If they cease to be that
then what is my connection to Interex?

Interex is a trade organization not a fraternal order. If Interex does not
meet my needs why should I support Interex? What do I care about Interex's
long term viability? If Interex ceases to be the HP3000 advocate then what
function do they serve.

From the vote it would appear that most Interex members are concerned more
with the life of Interex rather than the function Interex has traditionally
played. I am perplexed. What will Interex become in order to stay alive? Who
knows, I may like it. Whatever it becomes a gap will be created.

A few months back someone spoke of the 3000-L as a voice of advocacy. Is it
possible to make the 3000-L a voice HP will hear? If it takes work then I am
willing to help in any way I can.

Where do we go from here?
