I stand corrected (sincere contrition). I shoulda said Elm, not UNIX.
HPDesk is the closest thing on MPE, I guess, and it's not fun either. I am
familiar with VUE. I admit it's pretty and functional, and a little more
verbose than UNIX. And I will be the first to admit that a lot of my
snivelling about UNIX (I can show my Whiner's Club card) has to do with my
level of expertise -- no fault of the operating system. But UNIX scares me
because it's also difficult to keep your OWN user community corralled as
well as hackers. It's truly an art to open the system JUST ENOUGH to let
'em get their work done -- and not an inch more. This is an art I don't
expect to master, given my knowledge level.
