DBRECOV has been enhanced to perform roll forward recovery of databases
stored using TurboSTORE/iX 7x24 True-Online Backup, an HP product to be
released in MPE/iX release 5.5. With this True-Online Backup product,
you can store your TurboIMAGE database regardless of it being open for
update or closed. This means that the recovery will actually inititate
from the middle of the user logfile.

The IMAGE/SQL Lab hopes to get some beta sites to test DBRECOV and TurboIMAGE.
We are interested to hear from sites who employ user logging, use
DBRECOV, and may or may not want to use this True-Online Backup product in the
near future. The beta site could test any one of the following:

   1. ROLLFORWARD recovery of databases stored using True-Online Backup.
   2. ROLLBACK recovery of databases stored using True-Online Backup.
   3. ROLLFORWARD recovery of databases stored using DBSTORE or STORE.
   4. ROLLBACK recovery of databases stored using DBSTORE or STORE.

For items 1 and 2 above, you will need to be up on MPE/ix beta release 5.5.

For items 3 and 4, you need to apply a new TurboIMAGE patch and don't
need to be up on MPE/ix release 5.5. This will ensure that no new problems
have been introduced by changes to DBRECOV and TurboIMAGE.

If you are interested, please respond to this message ([log in to unmask]).

Thanks.
