After lots of research on incorporating a HP PowerTrust UPS into use on our
937, it finally worked.

The 9x7 series(and maybe all boxes before the 9x8) are configured through
nmmgr needing configuration with proper speeds, and device name, etc.
Configuration is specified in the Performing system management tasks manual.

We restarted multiple times and for some reason the UPS and 3000 did not
sync. I turned logging on in sysgen for UPS logging enabled and restarted
and it saw the UPS device. This could be unrelated although we changed
nothing else between restarts.

Anyway, it is working. Pressing the test button displays a mesage on the
console that power has been interrupted and 15 seconds later it is restored.
We also get records in the log file identifying the same. Also, the program
UPSUTIL.MPEXL.TELESUP contains the information for our UPS.

One thing that would be beneficial with the ups is the ability to initiate a
UDC or command file when power is interrupted so you could begin to shutdown
the processes, set limits, etc. before power loss....

Thanks to all that provided help in attempting to get this to work...
