Here's my opinion, and I admit I've never been an Autoraid fan:

You cannot control the RAID level on an Autoraid box.  It mirrors until it
reaches somewhere close to 100% disc utilization, then it automatically
changes to striping in order to free up some disc space.  There are
advantages to mirroring the system volume set that you can't realize once
your Autoraid box changes to striping.

I'd rather be able to control the RAID level, and there are HP solutions
that allow you to.  I'm open to others' thoughts on this, though.
