I was perusing the latest issue of Portable Computing. In it, they review the
Apple iBook. They report the battery life as being close to 6 hours. Wow!
I read a little further, the battery is 12 inches long (30 cm in English
system-challenged countries) and the disc drive is a small 3.2GB. The screen
is only 12.1 inch TFT. The power cord is retractable. There are no floppy
drive or PC-Card slots, but it does have an internal 56K modem and a 10/100
Base-T Ethernet card. It is Also capable of using the AirPort card to
communicate, quickly, with other iBooks or the Internet, through the AirPort
base station.
Overall it is a pretty interesting system, somewhat underpowered but with some
neat features, and again, an astounding battery life. MSRP $1599.
Kind regards,

Make sure you set your HP3000-L subscription to NOMAIL while you are in
hibernation mode, or else your mailbox will fill up over the winter.
Also, PLEASE do not set up a vacation message. If you're hibernating,
that's fine, but we don't want to hear about it every time someone posts
to HP3000-L.
