Hi all,

I'm looking for some info on Apples Bonjour discovery.

We are a K-12 school district and have multiple vlans setup for various wireless SIDs.
We are not looking at AppleTV. In reading on dns-sd.org, it appears as though you can
use DNS to do discovery with Bonjour.

I have bind (and MS-DNS) resolving PTR, SRV, and TXT records with dig. (www.dns-sd.org)
However I cannot get the bonjour browser on my Ipad to discover the services.

I have found multiple references to not using xxx.local as the default domain internally.
Well, we have this fully engrained in our network.
I also have found that recent updates to Apple IOS seem to say it's no longer an issue
even though having a default domain of xxx.local is no longer recommended by Microsoft.

So, my question: Can I make Wide Area Bonjour work with our default domain of gfps.local
in our AD environment?

Any assistance would be appreciated...

thanks, bob
