I have to tell you guys about something - no inquiries - just a bit of amazement.
I guess we (and Wirt) are about the last to be using BASIC/3000 (not business basic)
Anyway I notice on a report 2 lines printed are 2 bytes offset to the left - but the code looks fine. The formatting statements (IMAGE 4x,30a, etc) looks the same.
I put in a couple of diagnostic statements to check how the contents the the variables look . The complier complained about segment overflow and barfed. (that's the technical term) - reminds me years ago when I told a boss that the program bombed I was told to never say "bombed" but "aborted", but I digress.
I decide to eliminate about 200 lines of unrelated code and recompile.Compiles fine. Now the report looks fine. Thinking of "C" terms one would think corrupted memory but I don't believe that is the case.
Time to bring out the pruning shears, I guess!
In other news I hear on the radio some HP execs are taking the 5th before a Congressional committee. Shades of Don Corleone.
Bill
