You can save a few keystrokes by adding HPBIN.SYS to your path. Then
rm FOO
works from the command line. If you don't want to do that, you can
always just use:
:rm.hpbin.sys FOO
You can also use the mv command, which will rename files while they're
open:
mv[.hpbin.sys] "FOO FOO2"
The quotes are required in this case.
Note: mv doesn't update any of the dates associated with the file, while
:RENAME updates the modify and access dates. This can be either good or
bad, depending on what you're trying to accomplish.
