I am working on a project to e-mail messages from our HP3000 MPEiX box
to our corporate mailboxs. I want to use Telamon's freeware program,
MAILTELM to send the message. It requires a SMTP address. But all my
program really knows is the HP user name, the persons first and last
name.
Currently, the coporate mail server is MS Exchange 5.5. It has LDAP
services, but I don't know of any LDAP clients available on the 3000.
Does anyone know of any ports that have been done? Perhaps the UMich
client for Unix boxes (UD)? This would at least let me query on the
first and last name to get a X.400 address, but I am not sure it would
get the SMTP address.
What I would like to do is query the mail server with the user's real
name. Then get back the server's SMTP address for that user. Currently,
the server maintains the following type addresses: X.400, MS, SMTP and
CCmail.
Or is there some more direct way to get the SMTP address for a person
from a corporate mail system?
