By "daytime" do you TCP port 13?
Works for us here on 5.5pp2. Make sure the daytime entries exist and aren't
commented out in SERVICES.NET.SYS. Make sure that /etc/services exists as a
symbolic link pointing to /SYS/NET/SERVICES.
Make sure the daytime entries exist and aren't commented out in
INETDCNF.NET.SYS. Make sure that /etc/inetd.conf exists as a symbolic link
pointing to /SYS/NET/INETDCNF.
If you had to make any changes, either abort and restream inetd, or use
"inetd -c" to restart it.
