I too am delighted to see HP's response to a potential security problem.

However, I am also more than curious as to specific nature of the problems
and the potential consequences of staying on a 4.0 platform - as many of my
customers will probably wish to do until at least powerpatch 1 or 2. I
will certainly be asking questions at IPROFS.

One last thing. It seems to me that several serious security problems were
addressed by all 4.0 powerpatches from B.40.06(?) and onwards as well as a
separate security patch tape available upon request. Presumeably, these new
problems are in addition to the ones solved by the aforementioned patches.

Will these last security patches finally allow us to finally sleep
comfortably at night - or does the newfound "open" MPE/iX fortell even more
UNIX-like security woes ?
