Ernie Newton writes: VERRRRRYY peace-filled email, Yosef.
Ernie, I am sorry that my reply was not as gentle as it should have, in fact
I admit it was downright rude. For that I apologize. I was not only reacting
to your statement I was reacting to over 40 years of hearing that statement.
I should not blame you for what High School Vice-Principals, Assistant Deans
and straw bosses said or did.

My point remains simply this; telling people that they should leave the
country if they don't agree with everything the government says or does is
not an argument. There is no answer to that statement. The only answer I can
give to that statement is, "Oh yeah! Says you." (Frankly, I would rather
hold that argument in reserve for when I really need a snappy reply. ;-))

The whole "America Love It or Leave It" gig is really quite silly. Would you
say to your wife or children that they should leave their home because they
disagree with you? I certainly hope not.
I may be wrong but I do not remember that any of the members of the current
American government have told citizens that disagree with their policy to
shut up or leave. I hope that at least that level of civility will remain
after hostilities start. As Dubya said when he was campaigning, "I'm a
uniter not a divider."
I do not believe that my questioning government policy is divisive. I can
believe that the President and his advisors are wrong without believing that
they are, in you words, a**holes. I can also believe that a war with Iraq is
wrong and still believe that Saddam Hussein is an evil man that must be
stopped from doing further evil.
Let Peace be the maxim by which we act because we will Peace to become a
universal law.
