if csy could/would find a *better* way of opening up more source, then stupid stuff
like devctrl and 'ps in batch for more than just the system manager' could get fixed
for free...without impacting csy's workload.  i realize the challenge of making more
code available but expend the effort on providing the enabling tool and look at what
could be done.         - d
