Well, after a thorough reading of the smb.conf parameters, there
appeared to be a couple more I could tweak:
read raw = no
write raw = no
read size = (docs say defaults to 2048, but testparm showed it as 16384)
I tried setting it back to 2048.
Still nada.
Regards,
Michael

Subject: [HP3000-L] Samba Testing
I located a couple of GLOBAL parameters that looked
like they may help control the size of the packets:
max xmit (defaults to 65535)
max packet (defaults to 65535)
I entered both into the smb.conf GLOBAL section and
tried copying a file of about 33K from the 3000 to the
PC, but I still got the same error. When I looked at the
log.smb (with debug level set to 5), I noticed that right
at the end where it bombed, it showed a transfer of
the entire file size plus four bytes was attempted. So
much for those parameters! I'll see what else I can
dig up.
