It may not be nesseary to receive the EMI from the HP3000 itself.  It
depends on what you are looking for (although the original thread started
with disc drives.)  You can target anything along the multitudinous I/O
paths, such as LANs, PCs, laptops, bridges, routers, hubs, serial lines.

Unshielded serial lines are especially vulnerable and COAX LAN cable the
least, (due to the nature of COAX) in my opinion.
