I started it:

OK. Didn't take too long to find this one. "." is now a valid file
name and so the file equation acutally gets redirected to a file
called "."!!
BUT, how do I get rid of this file called "." ?
Tried PURGE . PURGE ./. shell>rm '.' rm . <<

Richard is right!. I didn't check this.
I was doing this all in one session.
The file "." is a TEMP. Logoff and it's gone. Problem solved.
