We have done this for about 4 years now as by law we have to save the signed
invoices.

We do have bar codes on our invoices but the machine/scanner does read
several other fields.

Banks do this also as I'm sure you are aware of.

Has turned out to be a real time saver here.

Contact me off list if you want our vendor name.

Subject: Re: [HP3000-L] Anyone using image capture automation?

We are going to start working on developing a program that will read scanned
image (invoices, Picking Tickets, reports) and capture certain key areas
(ie: Invoice number, report number, customer number, date, etc) and
automatically file those images in certain folders... (for example all the
invoices scanned for Joe's Store will be stored in Joe's Folder by date).
Before we start working on this, I was wondering if anyone is using such
program?that maybe?will be more cost effective.
Some of the programs I have seen on the market requires you to print special
bar coded labels and attach to the image to be scanned before hand or insert
a special preprinted form in between each batch for each folder and that is
lots of manual work...
We are after scan it and forget about it!

Thank you
