Sr. Programmer/Analyst

Basic Purpose:

This position is responsible for analyzing the design and requirements
specifications as outlined, prepares detailed systems flows, test data to
verify program and system logic, codes programs and performs maintenance on
specified systems.

Principal Accountabilities:

Analyzes systems development opportunities by gathering data, reviewing company
operations, evaluating alternatives methods, preparing time estimates according
to project guidlines.

Prepares systems design and specification suitable for program design.

Designs program logic to meet specification to adhere to prescribed standards.

Develop and maintain program and operational level documentation per prescribed
standards.

Analyze and debug program problems.

Evaluates, maintains, and modifies existing systems.

Develop, test and implement efficient computer programs in authorized
programming languages that adhere to standards.

Assit management by interfacing with user groups.

Assits in the development of less experienced members of the technical staff.
Works with project leader to keep projects on schedule and recommend needed
action to meet deadlines.

Under the direction from the project leader participate in detailed studies and
analysis of systems requirements, recommend specific technical solutions.

Assist in developing test plans and ensure all systems perform according to the
specifications.

Can coordinate or lead all or portions of various development projects.

Internal / External Relationships:

Internal:

Daily interaction with the Director of Information Services, Supervisor of Data
Center Operations, CFO, Controller, HR Director, applications development
staff, data and voice communications staff.

External:

User groups

Knowledge and Experience Guidelines:

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field or comparable
business/technical experience.

At least 4 years experience in systems development in an HP 3000 environment.

In depth knowledge of applications development, including systems analysis and
design techniques, problem determination, project control, contract/vendor
administration, and structured system development methods.

Strong analytical, problem solving, and programming skills

Good communication skills
