Yep, thought as much. I was just hoping there was a workaround, some
undocumented feature. It wouldn't have been the first time...

BTW, is there a reason for this PCL requirement, since the
non-networked spooler doesn't require such printers? It would make
defending the e3000 somewhat easier.

Guess I'll have to go third party or something, or whip something up
myself. Shouldn't be that hard.

O, by the way. For those of you who have JetDirect boxes with more
than one printer port and wondering how you can address these and not
having the docs readily available: just increment the TCP port, ie
first printer port is on TCP port 9100, second on 9101 etc. Luckily
you can specify this in NPCONFIG. Worked in my case anyway...
