Not much in the way of customer perturbance, I would wager.  When HP made
the announcement of the unbundling of Image, they told us "Here's what we're
going to do.  What do you think?" and, obviously, we told them.

HP learned its lesson from the Boston Tea Party and slyly waited until after
the conference to make the announcement and by the time the conference comes
up this year, it will be very old news indeed.  While HP briefed certain
"partners" in advance via a medium which requires NDA's, they purposely did
not seek out customer comments for the decision beforehand, nor are they
doing so now after the fact.  While I have had about 10 contacts from press
types looking for my reaction to the announcement, and a few contacts from
"other" hardware vendors, I have heard nothing from HP, unless you count
George's form email.

I think it will be very interesting to see what HP offers on the upcoming
webcast (HP e3000 Transitions - First Steps).
