Problems with email from telamon

Can anyone help with a problem on the email program downloaded from
telamon.

When I try to send mail to my SCO Unix system I get the messages:
RecvSocket: IPCRECV: SOCKET TIMEOUT.  (SOCKERR 59)
Program terminated in an error state. (CIERR 976)

If I telnet to port 25 of the Unix box it connects but when I type help the
system seems to lock up for 1 minute or so.
