Speaking of OpenView, I've had it for nearly 3 years now. In all of those 3
years, I have YET to have it NOTIFY me in any form or fashion when a DTC port
flakes out. I get calls that a port isn't responding, I go check OpenView
DTC Manager under "Monitor" ... "Show Connections" and have the port appear
as "Not Available". Does OV DTC Manager care? Nope. Never raises an
alarm unless I turn the whole DTC off. Why in the &#%@$% can't it do some
sort of intelligent polling once in awhile? And alert me to errors? Hmmm?

As it stands, it provides me with more information about my campus network
(using polling) that it does about the DTCs that it is supposed to be taking
care of.

Sorry, I'm "venting" again :-) I'll hush for now (where's my Maalox?)
