Hi all,
For those of you who have downloaded the MPEJXQ1 extended filename
patch, which also contains all of the JXR6 features (like listf, access,
PAUSE for a job, FINFO # of sectors/extents, etc.) and for those of you
who may, please read on. Everyone else can delete this message now.
I have just reworked the JXQ1 patch for a number of reasons:
1) I got some good feedback from our Roseville division that there were
some compatibility issues with the original choice of extended file name
characters. Specifically, a script that does listfile ./@ "pipe" to
purge would behave differently if any CI wildcard chars were found
in the files listed. Another point made was that the CI already has
enough problems with quoting, and filenames with quote characters just
exasperates the situation.
2) The original patch installation job and staging script inadvertently
untranslated the SL. This is a problem if you try to apply Patch/iX
patches later.
3) I added 2 new evaluator functions: anyparm() and quote().
All of the changes are documented on jazz at:
