We once had a half-baked proposal to convert a 950 into an 8xx (which
didn't happen). I've never heard of anything in the other direction,
but I'm pleased to no end that a customer wants to do so!

They seem willing to convert 3000->9000 because you forfeit all of the
bundled MPE FOS software that comes with it and have to turn around and
buy UX software. Going the other way around, I don't think they have
actually priced the MPE FOS software alone. The hardware changes are
minimal to insignificant.

What's next, a consulting firm Enut-BD to assist in 9000->3000 migration?
<grin>
