Really much more on-topic than you might think...

I got a flyer in the mail today indicating that Edward Tufte is returning to
the bay area the first week in December to present his excellent one-day
class "Presenting Data and Information".

Stan and I (along with a few other HP3000-L regulars) went the last time he
was here and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I think that anyone who deals with information and its presentation (which
is of course all of us) ought to own all of his wonderful books, and getting
a chance to hear some of the material from the man himself is definitely
worth it.

The registration fee for the class is $320, which includes copies of all
three of his books and the Minard "Napoleon's March" poster (would cost $145
if you bought them separately).
