Happy New Year !!!
over this past weekend I discovered the tax tables I uploaded to our
3000 didn't work. For 5 hours on Sunday every possible scenario was
thought of and eventually dismissed as the problem.
The tax table file that is uploaded from a cd is 7,219,270 bytes in
length. It doesn't have cr/lf to designate the end of a record. When
doing the transfer I specified in Reflection the record length to be
1030 bytes per record, and to transfer using binary and to tack on cr/lf
at the end of each record. When you take 7,219,270 and divide it by
1030 you get 7009 for the number of records. Well I would get 13898 to
22000 records after the transfer. Highline (our HR/PR software vendor)
tried transferring the file and got the same results.
Turns out we had an old version of PClink2 on our system that wouldn't
handle this transfer. Highline downloaded a newer version of pclink2
and all is well.
Other than that and a few Quiz reports we are back on our feet!
I hope everyone out there had a great "new beginning"
