You may also use Minisoft's Netprint or Richard Corn's Espul.
(Same product, two different Vendors, then you won't need HP JetDirect Cards.)
We have a mixed environment and use both methods. Example, we have a new
site outside the country with dozens of non-HP printers. Rather than buy
new JetDirect boxes, we simply configured them in Netprint (which we already
had.)
You still configure them in IOCONFIG, you just DON'T put an entry in
NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS. You put an entry in NP92CONF.PUB.MINISOFT instead.
