I enjoyed your tongue-in-cheek posting.

I thought you might be amused, though, to know that in Thailand (which, by the
by, reached Y2K before Columbus stumbled across America), they not only have
their own New Year (sometime in what we call April) but also celebrate ours.
After all, it's one more excuse for a party :-).
