Hi Jon,
DATEINTR can't be directly appended to SYSINTR file by FCOPY.
If you are using the compilers (such as Splash, Pascal..) which
support compiler directives for alternate intrinsics file
specification then you can use those compiler directives.
However, if you are using HP COBOL then as such there is no
compiler support available for alternate intrinsic file
specification and hence there is a limitation at this point
in time using these new date intrinsics (DATEINTR) in combination
with the existing intrinsics (SYSINTR.PUB.SYS).
Again these new intrinsics are currently planned to be part of the
Year 2000 release (ie., 5.5 Express 4). With this release the
above problem will go away, all the new intrinsics will be made
part of the SYSINTR.PUB.SYS and DATEXL/DATEINTR will not be required.
Hope this clarifies,
Gopi

Subject: New DATE intrinsics and SYSINTR file.
I have been playing w/ the new DATE intrinsic files from jazz.
My problem is what to do w/ the DATEINTR file. I can compile ok
w/ my test program if I redirect SYSINTR to DATAINTR but I can't
if I FCOPY append to SYSINTR.
I haven't found any documentation.
What am I missing?
Thanks,
John
