Finally got a little sense out of hp support...but no solution in sight.

 

Seems that for NON-windows printing, there is a separate list of fonts
available , that CANNOT be dumped from the printer - its visible here

-          barely legible scanned image ?

 

Anyway, font nos 4099(Courier), 4102, 4124, 4264 are visible, so I try
these, with same result as before. They all work fine on a 2200n.

If you go to HP  customer care website, troubleshooting, and YOUR problem is
not listed, seems you are S-O-O-L, unless you start the whole chat with hp
routine again.

 

Where are the UX guys? Surely they must do some font stuff in their
printing?

..
