Sorry about the previous message, I accidentally hit <CTRL><ENTER>
instead of just <ENTER>, and off went the email!

Anyway, what I meant to add was:

:RUN FROMBYTE.HPBIN.SYS;INFO="/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf SMBCONF.PUB.SYS"

  This will convert the bytestream file into a fixed record length file
that QUAD (or any standard editor) can then work with.
