yesterday i changed the input buffer size to 1024 from 320 and stopped and
started the network. does not look like it changed the Max on the
resource display.
when this happens on the 3000 pings are not successful. outbound pings
have not been tried. stopping and starting the network clears the
problem.
i will ask the remote operations people to capture this information when
this happens again ( most likely next Sunday).

Subject
network stoppage problem
Hello Larry,
I think the silence here might be us waiting for the "similar" data that
was
asked for in the last thread about "Network instability"...
1- mpe version?
2- nst patch installed?
3- nettool;info="res;di;quit"
In the linkcontrol output, the "Receives dropped 60732" looks
interesting...
In the statistics information, the "Pkts rtx'ed : 6612" looks
interesting...
But this info is just 2 small pieces of information that needs to be
investigated to get the full picture of the actually problem.
Also are you able to ping inbound to this system? By name? By IP? When
the problem is seen?
Likewise are you able to ping outbound from this system? By Name? By IP?
When the problem is seen?

James Hofmeister
