Mike, the discussion on the issue of "protecting" all the files needed to
boot and start a HP3000 continues to concerns me.  Your info about the START
NORECOVERY from the BOOTUP group was enlightening.  This same info needs to
get to your response center techs.  The night/morning I called, the
recommendation from the HP rep was to do an RE-install to get the system up.

Needless to say, I did not follow this advice.  Not only were the HP reps not
sure about the CONFIG utility having a default of NOCONFIG, they never
mentioned the possibility of booting from the BOOT group.  Maybe I should have
known this but,,,

Can you imagine the work we would have created for ourselves if we chose to
perform the INSTALL.  I wonder if this info would have saved me from performing
an INSTALL a few years ago, - different story, different problem.

Just maybe?
