I would say yes. I worked on a project last year where we migrated a
960 and a 980 to a 959/200. The 959 came with 5.0. We were on 4.0 on
the 960/980. We first upgraded both to 5.0 with the latest PowerPatch
and then migrated accounts and users from the 960 to the 959 using
MPEX's copyaccount command. The next weekend, we added users from the
980. Upgrading to 5.0 a couple of weeks before would help to isolate
problem causes. It would then be easier to find if a particular
problem is kinked with 5.0 upgrade or the new machine... I say a
couple of weeks to include a "financial month end" since this is the
time where problems generally appear 8-)
