I did a quickie port of Ruby 1.6.1 a couple years back, and it's
available at:

   http://www.allegro.com/software/hp3000/other.html

As far as I know, this hasn't been extensively tested. It was only a
couple hours work to get it this far, so it may still be easy to port
later versions as 1.6.1 is relatively our of date at this point, but I
have no time to look in to it these days.

Image access would require someone to write an adapter module, similar
to what was done for Java or Perl I think.
