You have several choices for HP3000 editors that handle large files or files with file codes that EDIT/3000 doesn't like:

QUAD if you want something free that resembles EDIT/3000.

QEDIT if you want something a little better than EDIT/3000. OK, maybe more than a "little better". It does have a "visual" mode, but I've always found it awkward to use. It reminds me of vi and  IBM editors. I haven't used the "Windows" version of QEDIT yet.

PROGRAMMER STUDIO if you want something with really great and up to date interface and power. It uses both the power of the HP3000 and the desktop computer.

I use all of them. It just depends on what I'm trying to accomplish. Though, overall I prefer Programmer Studio as usually being the most powerful, versatile and easy to use.

Subject: Text Editor for files with rec zies larger than 255?

Anybody know of an editor for the HP3000 that can handle record
sizes greater than 255 characters?
