Thanks for your expressions of care and concern for Jeff.
I just wanted to report that I saw Jeff today and he really is
doing remarkably well considering what he has been through
the last two months. He was even sitting in a chair part of
the time and had enough strength to move back to the bed mostly
on his own. I passed along everyone's greetings. He seems
to be recovering remarkably, although he obviously is nothing
but skin and bones and will need a good deal of work to get
fully back on his feat. The doctors are discussing rehabilitation
options. He continues to require a ventilator and he is reported
to have only a little liver functioning, so they continue to
expect him to require a transplant.

Jeff is in room 432 of Memorial Health Center (see
http://www.memorial.org/ ).

Jeff is a very private person, but I'm sure he will
respond nonetheless to expressions of how much we all
miss him and appreciate him.

For those of you who might be new to the list, Jeff Kell was
responsible for creating and promoting the HP3000-l mailing
list and up until this illness largely did the work to keep
it running smoothly. Jeff is a long time 3000 "believer" and
wrote a great deal of the software we use here at UTC.

I'd also like to offer a public thanks to Stan Sieler of
Allegro Consultants for handling the list owner chores for
HP3000-l while Jeff has been hospitalized.

Richard
