I will second that. I used to work for a consulting
company. We would dial into a customer's system.
One particular customer had a modem which would drop
the line if it were idle for 90 seconds. Since a
good part of our work was analysing reports, which
we would list to the terminal, and then attempt to
read before the system logged us off, I developed a
command file which would move the cursor up one line,
and then send a <CR>. The result for me was that I
could study the report for 3 or 4 minutes without
worrying about getting logged off (which would blank
the screen). The result for the customer was a 60%
increase in CPU usage due to my "idle loop". (But,
hey, it was my long distance phone call.)
