Grace - in Sacramento at least you can call HP - Roseville is just up the
road - and they will pick up this stuff for recycling. They used to pick up
any amount - sent a moving van - but lately you have to have a minimum
amount to give - they ignore me ;-)

My friends up in Folsom - where they have a whole warehouse full off "old"
HP stuff - has a contact in Sacramento who will pick it up free - there is
value in these old machines for recycling. Maybe the yellow pages there is
a "recycling - electronic" section where you live.

I'm still in the process of moving stuff over from our Classic to the 917 -
am finding the differences in the systems as I go along (no allocate in
UDCs, no START command....) - I am still amazed at the amount of data the
4mm tape will hold - and the speed of this thing. Still a few differences to
solve - DIRMIG worked for the most part - left the passwords out of the SM
accounts (telesup; sys) for us that's no big deal - easy to add - but I'm
wondering about some huge installation with 100-200 accounts...I think I
should pick up a CD of all the commands for MPE/ix - anyone know the
corresponding commands for FREE5 and LISTDIR5?

Bill
