Printing PDF's on an LPQ1000

We have a system that generates it's reports as pdf documents. We would like to generate some reports and print them on the lpq1000 but the print is not very readable on the line printer. Has anyone been able to get a data only PDF report to print on a line printer with acrobat? If so, would you mind sharing the font you used?

When I print a notepad doc, it is pretty readable with Lucidia console but using theat font through acrobat does not produce the same result.

Our LPQ1000 printers are on PCL II version 2.07J.
