We've just installed MPE/ix 5.0 and have some questions on networking PC's to the 3000.
I've read through the HP3000-L FAQ and got some information but its difficult to put it
all together and into perspective.

Given the following:
HP3000 947 running MPE/ix 5.0
Zenith 486/33 pc's, 8mb, running MS Windows for Workgroups 3.11
Asanti Ethernet hubs
3-Com Etherlink 3 ethernet cards
Connecting to a Appleshare File Server using Appleshare Client
    for Windows
WRQ Reflection 1 for Windows 4.21

We want to use the existing network card to access the HP instead of having to run
another wire from the DTC to the PC's. Our current HP applications are HP OpenDesk
Manager, Bi-Tech Accounting, in-house student scheduling, grading, attendance,
discipline, etc... These applications are a mix of COBOL character and block mode (Vplus
screens) programs.

What additional hardware and software do we need on each PC and what would be the
approximate cost?

cost?

Would the solution be different knowing that we want to access our Image/SQL databases
using Visual Basic, Foxpro, Excel, etc... under ODBC in the future?

I realize that this is a pretty tall order to ask of "volunteers" but I would be willing
to put together something from the responses that could be added to the faq.
