One great thing about Access is that it can call the Windows API. And if
your users have Internet Explorer 3.01 or above on their PC's, they have
an API within the Wininet.dll (which comes with IE) that can do ftp (or
http).

Try this webpage for start:
http://www.mvps.org/access/modules/mdl0037.htm

Here is a simple example:

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=wininet.dll+ftp+group:*access*&hl=en&r
num=2&selm=814rnq%24ism%241%40nnrp1.deja.com

I've used the wininet.dll for years to do ftp from Access to VMS.
